Bidrage med feedbackVisited here for the first time this past weekend. We live just 15 minutes north and have been meaning to try it forever! Very unassuming interior but the food more than made up for it! Extensive Italian menu with a bit of Greek thrown in...for good measure. Our table tried the Spinach Salad from the special menu, the minestrone soup and the Caesar salad (garlic city! . Then our mains were pasta and chicken. Very healthy portions. What impressed me most was that everything came out of the kitchen STEAMING hot wow! Even the bread. We all agreed our plates were flavourful. Chef worked at a former Italian restaurant in Mississauga that I had enjoyed before. Believe it's his wife and daughter who serve the tables very courteous. We will be back!
We are from Toronto and have a place nearby in Caledon for 20 years. I like to discover restaurants that are under the radar and this is a gem that i have driven by and didn't even noticed it existed bc it is in a...not so nice looking mini mall. Don't let the look turn you away. The people who run it are family and they have the children helping out as well which didn't add to the experience as i had hoped. I do think if you have children helping you need to make sure they have a pen and paper, our order wasn't quite right but not a big deal. The son who served us didn't look very happy to be working/serving us-no hello or engagement of any kind, no eye contact quite awkward which made us feel awkward. I would suggest if the kids dont' want to be part of the business then hire others or scale down the amount of tables in the restaurant. Its really not fair to them in my opinion or have them do the kitchen work only. They are kind and hard working people who provide a wonderful menu of italian food. The garlic bread with cheese is the best we have had, we typically order it everywhere we go when we go for dinner. The chicken part is excellent. The lasagna was very good. Im not sure all the sauce is necessary on the top. I think a square cut of the lasagna with vegetables in the bowl would be more appetizing. It was way too much of one thing to finish and not feel sick, even for my husband who is a big eater. Despite the child making us feel awkward, we forgot about it when we ate our meals so thats why i would still give it a 5. I would definitely go back again or order take out. The woman is lovely who finished with our bill. I only wish them success and will return again.
Amazing eating huge portions good prices. came here because I made the reviews. I was in the millcroft inn and wanted to find a place close. order grilled calamari that was so good and as they are on top, it is amazing. I ordered penne pasta with shrimp and mushroom and it was so good and so big. my man was bored with chicken saucek, that was very good. also very large part. if we live in the opposite, that would be our new found jewel.
Very large portions. impressed by how everything was filled up. (as always. intentionally on the foil lids, they begin to split at the corners and can be quite sharp! most food smell amazing. from any reason the captivating primavera had a burnt oil...smell on it and it was not very well mixed (some of the pasta had collapsed). the sweet in it looked good, but the smell of the burned oil overwhelmed the rest of the teller. we couldn't find out where the smell comes from. the chicken stall doesn't smell like that. the agnolotti was okay, but had unconsistent temperature and texture. some were in the middle cooler than others, and some pasta cuts beautiful and some were wrinkling/shy? the middle seemed crumbling and dry. the penne alla vodka was the favorit. the marinara on the chicken stable was not very tasteful. Unfortunately, we didn't order a whisper. I wish we had it. I've already met friends for coffee rtiramisu. I wish I could say I found a new favorite.
This place was a hidden gem! it deceives from the outside, but this food speaks for itself! the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. all we had, we loved and were blown away. my man had the carving with spicy rigatoni and...loved him. I had the gorgonzola gnocchi with garnel and mushrooms was hands down, better than any pasta dish I had traveled over italy. that says something. will definitely come back!
