Wei Dao Cafe - Burnaby

Our family of 13 went to this restaurant and sampled a variety of authentic Hong Kong street food dishes. The dishes were all full of flavor! The preserved meat rice pot, oyster cake, and roasted pepper chicken were standouts. Don't let the low ratings deter you, as they are leftover from when the restaurant was a low-rated Taiwanese style cafe.

My girlfriend and I wanted to eat at potters but it was a full house. So we decided to dine next door at Wei dao.<br/ <br/ The renos were done very nicely and simple. The menu had alot of variety. They gave us complimentary chicken feet to start. Loved it. This goes great with beer. Then our other two dishes came out and the prep and quality was nice. It was a clean meal. It wasn't heavily caked in oil and I would feel groggy afterwards. I would definitely come back to try their crab and seafood dishes. My girlfriend and I had a great dinner.<br/ <br/ Service kinda lacked. But I guess we lucked out this time.<br/

Newly renovated. New executive chef. New menu. They now serve authentic Hong Kong style food. Cozy and child friendly environment. Their spicy chilli crab is so good. Highly recommended. Although they do not have bubble tea and waffle now, HK style milk tea and drinks still available. Beer was served with pre-refridgerated bowl. It is a tradition way to drink beer in HK. If you want to try authentic Taste of HK, Wei Dao is one of the finest one you can give it a try.

This restaurant is under new management now, completely different menu and new renovation. No more Taiwanese style food. The chinese name is 香港味道 meaning taste of Hong Kong. The food is Hong Kong 大牌檔 market style(not the best English translation), which is very authentic and unique. Still cannot find this style in Vancouver yet.taste good, portion is big. They were having their soft opening when I went, staff are friendly. I definitely will go again
