Perkins - Brooklyn Center

As we travel with my husband's job, we visit restaurants in all price ranges in all types of places. I normally wouldn't write a review of a Perkins, but the exceptional quality of the food at this location prompts me to applaud them. It seems lately at most midscale restaurants, the quality and freshness of ingredients has gone downhill somewhat. This is NOT the case at this Perkins. Our salads were exceptionally crisp and ice cold (nice for a change). My grilled chicken was pleasantly seasoned and moist, and my husband raved about his country-fried steak. Our sides of corn, rice, and fries were equally satisfying. Portion sizes are large, and neither of us were able to finish our meals. We were presented with a complimentary piece of pie to take home after a manager mistakenly closed out our check, and took a few extra minutes to refigure our total. As always, the pie was delicious (never have had a bad bakery item from Perkins). The staff were courteous and friendly, and the dining room and restrooms were clean. Recommended.
