Spyglass Kettle - Bournemouth

We really enjoy dining at this restaurant, we have been a few times. It has a great atmosphere and a lot of character. There are various special evenings with live music and bingo that add to the experience. The service is always friendly. During our recent visit on a Monday and Tuesday evening in September, we took advantage of the 2 for 14:99 menu, making it an affordable night out. The food is simple and well-prepared, although my egg on the gammon was overcooked. The gammon itself was delicious. The portions are not very big, but the food is quick, fresh, and good for the price. It is recommended to make a reservation.

While on vacation in the area, we went for a short walk to the pub in the early evening around 6pm. We decided to have dinner and a few drinks there. I don't typically choose Green King establishments, but I was hungry and it seemed like the best option among the pubs on that road. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I have been back twice since, after spending the day at the beach, and have not been let down. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was reasonably priced and delicious. I would definitely recommend it.

Fast service. All food came together for all people in our group of 7 dinners.. Starters came promptly, altogether and super fresh and hot. They left a nice gap between starters and mains, where some other locations make a hash if this . Waiters were all very professional and sharp. Missed nothing and so happy to help accommodate everything. Also dog friendly, so anyone with a mut, can take them with you with no restrictions. Those who perhaps don't favour dogs, might want to consider this place. But we as a group were all very impressed and will go again when we revisit the area.

Lovely food, and barman was super friendly. Our waitress however seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. We had to ask for our order to be taken after waiting for 15 minutes and it seemed like a nuisance to her. She was unfriendly and quite frankly rude. The food came in a fair amount of time but our plates were never cleared away after we were finished. We weren’t offered dessert menus or another round of drinks and when I asked for the bill she huffed. It then took another 15 mins for the bill to come. It wasn’t a particularly busy day and we were being friendly. I’ve worked as a waitress before in a very busy restaurant and it takes no effort to be friendly and just not rude! Our waitress really ruined our whole experiences and made us feel uncomfortable which is such a shame because the pub is lovely and the food was delicious as well.
