Bidrage med feedbackI had a café noir in the afternoon and seen various menus around I decide I would have a meal here. I was able to get a table inside as it was rather cool for July. After a pastis I went for the menu at 38Euros, a Foie gras , a fruit de mer and plate of cheeses. I had 1/2 bottle muscadet de sevre with the seafood and a glass of Cote du Rhone with the fromage. The waiters were very efficient and helpful for example I asked for tabasco for two of the oysters ( he was straight back with it) asked for for a rthum baba as well as the menu (why not)!. The waiter told that the 1/2 crab was not available that evening but I was to have extra 3 oysters instead( ok I if have to)!. The coffee is very good served with a small meringue and a chocolate, I believe that it was the old welsh pub ( I thought the Welsh were Methodists!? ) but the decoration is subtle and gives a good ambiance, The staff were very pleasant especially the waitress. I would recommend the restaurant and will be back when on my wine trips.Ok from the downside, the carpets are very grubby (spillages)? get a carpet cleaner.
We came to the restaurant and got a table in the corner, hidden away from all the other visitors. It took 10 minutes before the waitor noticed us. Then it took 20 more minutes before we got our beverages. We ordered starters and it took 15 more minutes. As main dish I ordered rump steak, medium rare. But it was raw. It took 1 hour. We complained and then got our old plates back, with the forks lying in the sauce. They had cooked it for 2 minutes on the outside. Still raw on the outside! Terrible experience. I don't recommend tourists to visit this restaurant! Horrible!
The Rumpsteak i ordered medium came raw, sent it back And Got it back still raw. Drinks came after 20 minutes, food after an hour. Paid for my appatizer And left.
Excellent value restaurant with a good choice of well cooked food. Caters for all tastes, but can really recommend one of the Welshes which is basically a welsh rarebit with various additions. Very tasty and quite a big portion.
We arrived at 6:30 pm only to find that they only started serving dinner at 7:30pm. The patron welcomed us to sit and have a drink (which we did) and we were delighted when at 6:45 the waitress advised that they were ready to serve us.We sat on the terrace and ordered the 'suggestion de chef' to accompany our aperitif. it was lovely and we followed with the plateau de fruits de mer. It was excellent. To finish we shared a cafe gormonde. again it was very good. If you want fish or seafood I can highly recommend this place, as did the receptionist in our hotel. The location's nice, in a very pleasant square, and the steady traffic of pedestrians allows for a significant amount of people watching. entertaining! My criticism. the service could be a lot better and more attentive, but if you're prepared to linger, this is the place to eat.
