Baxters American Grille - Bloomington

The food was great! we both had the salmon with dill sauce. we shared our sides of baked potato and brokkoli. they were perfect. we both had the updated salad with walnuts and apples. it was all so delicious! our free dessert was to jubilee chocolate truffle cake and ice cream. yum!

The food was great as always. Service was a little hit or miss. Main course dropped in our table while we were still eating salad. Deserts dropped without checking to see if we needed silverware. Limited check ins on us. Server was fine but didn’t seem to know anything about the wine (people seem to like it… .

Our hostess and waitress were very nice. The food is a little pricey which I don’t mind if the quality matches it. However my steak was well done instead of medium and cold. My husband’s steak was fairly rare and cold. It looked like the kitchen was struggling to keep up. The other two people in our party had warm entrees but the sides were cold. The atmosphere is great just wish the food quality was better.

Waitress, service and time it took to get our food was great. I got the burger and fries. Burger was very good, but the fries were the worse I 've ever had. We were seated in the event room which was cold, and had no character .....just four walls.

The eating tasted good, as above the local norm of salt and pfeffer. very good warm rolls, starter salad fresh and tasty, brokkoli good; but the new york strip was disappointing. the part was good, it was cooked on request, medium rare. the flesh had more fat, gristle and long? I'm out, so I wasn't in the position to enjoy. I have informed the waiter at the end of the meal. he said he would alert the cook. I understand that the warning before the chef is the norm, but honestly I wanted to enjoy only the great wein and the rest of the meal. from experience in returning foods it disturbs the time spent in the restaurant. time spent with my spouse and enjoy the moment to celebrate our high-time anniversary was the plan.
