Kaku Sushi Poke - Bloomfield Hills

This is one of my go-to spots for dining out. The location is great, the restaurant is clean, and the customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this place!

I have visited this restaurant multiple times when I am in the area, and each time has been a pleasant experience. It may be a little overwhelming for those unfamiliar with sushi or poke toppings, but the staff always take the time to explain and we never feel rushed. I even brought my elderly mother here, who had never tried this type of cuisine before, and the gentleman patiently guided her through her first Poke bowl. The service is good and the food is consistently fresh and well-prepared. The portions of fish are just right and the flavors are vibrant. While I have had fresher fish at other sushi restaurants, the quality here is still very good. I must mention that the spicy tuna is quite potent – it pairs well with other fish but may be too strong on its own. The optional salad and avocado toppings are worth the extra cost, especially since the avocados are ripe and fresh. If you are seeking an authentic sushi experience, you may want to try elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a quick and flavorful meal with fresh ingredients, this restaurant will not disappoint.

The Poke bowls at this restaurant are fantastic! The rolls are decent, but the Poke bowls really stand out. The staff is highly professional and adheres to strict cleanliness measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I love coming here especially for the Cali roles. Sometimes you will notice that sushi has only the basic basket stick in their Cali reels, but kaku uses crab salad that makes the roll so much tastier and creamier. If you are looking for a nice bite in the Birmingham area, do not look further. They also used contacts, which shows that they take care of their community and their employees. The food here is outstanding. The poke bowls are bursting with a sparkling assortment of over the top flavors and the seasoned add-ins are fantastic. While the Indian in me loves crispy garlic the wakame seaweed, wasabi tobiko and simply too many others to name, are all superlative. But pricey but well worth it.
