The cocktails are heavy on Mexican spirits (Mayan, duh), well made, and quite tasty. Water stations are placed in strategic places throughout the outdoor spaces and the entire place feels safe and inviting. The crowd is dominated by suburban youngsters. I like the roof that allows for normal voice conversations and offers views of the nightly city. The downside of the roof is that there is no service and walking down to the bar to get a drink still comes with a tip of 20, 30, or 50%.

We went here after a drink and dinner at Lumbar for a friend’s birthday last Saturday. We had been here before about a year and a half ago and we were really excited to come back because last time was a good experience. Our first impression walking to the bar was one of our friends being barked at by the bartender saying “don’t order here” with no other instructions. There was a QR code on the bar top that just directed you to a PDF menu so eventually we figured out that they take your order at the table you sit at, but already that made us feel super uncomfortable and unwelcome. It’s very typical to order drinks at the bar when it’s just a bar. The food truck outside takes care of food service, so for anyone going now you know to just take a seat and a server will take your order. Other than that, we sat outside in the enclosed area which I want sure why they had the weathering plastic rolled down on a hot summer night. It allowed for no breeze and just made it super muggy. The drinks were tasty but we only stayed for one.

A really nice stop. Food trucks all around. Likable staff and patrons. I love that they have WATER handy to help with the dehydration. Thinking about my health while helping me get jiggy with it!
