Hausbrauerei Eschenbrau - Berlin

Google Maps has pointed us to this brewery near our AirBnB. Online booking was unsuccessful because the bookings had reached capacity, but when we arrived on Tuesday at 5:00, it was no problem getting a table for our party. Friendly and welcoming, the beers on offer... were explained to us with great enthusiasm and in great detail. Tastes in our group differ greatly, but everyone found their own special brew. Available Brezen and Flamecake perfectly complements the food we have brought. Tryed several whiskys for the desert. A super cozy evening. Definitely worth a visit.

In complete contrast to the previous brewery I visited up the street, I was made to be very welcome and had a number of conversations with the staff and customers. I had walked through a packed beer garden (It was very hot) and down into...a cooler cellar. I had a number of beers here but it was the Alt Berliner Dunkel that stood out, a 5.2% dark bitter beer. This brewery had 3 permanent beers and 23 seasonal ones, and had recently included a whisky distillery to complement the offering.

We came here on a previous visit to Berlin and were keen to return. We turned up at 3 pm when the pub opened. The garden did fill up fairly quickly and some tables were reserved. The Panker gold was well received, as was the seasonal stout. Wine is a good price and measure. We enjoyed the flammekuche, although you can bring your own food.
