Briglia’s Tavern - Berlin

We tried to love this small business. This was our 2nd visit. We went on a Monday as a date night. We sat in the dining room and started with fried Jersey tomatoes and calamari w/Thai sauce, and oysters. Tomatoes were okay but bland. The bit of pesto on the plate saved the dish. It was plated beautifully! The calamari was chewy, maybe over cooked? and sauce not much Thai flavor. Loved the fried jalapeño on the plate. Loved the oysters.As we were enjoying each other and eating our apps, a large young teen group came in and filled up the rest of the small space. Loud, having fun with each other, however the girls language at the other table was not a pleasant experience. Our waitress was now serving this large party and our service went away. We tried to hang in but could not. We ordered entrees to go, waited way too long and paid way too much, then left. My entree was the skewer special and barely edible, definitely not grilled or bbq as stated on menu. My husband loved the linguine and fra Diablo sauce which came with mussels. The mussels could not be enjoyed…too chewy…overcooked? This could be an amazing place to go to, yet the management and the quality of food for the price are not worth it, so we will not return or recommend. We hope Briglias succeeds.

This place is truly a hidden gem! The Italian food is delicious! I highly recommend trying it! They are so friendly, the portions are large and the menu has so many food options! A must go to!

The food here is amazing, but on this hot summer evening we came for a few drinks!! The sangria is amazing!! If you're a sangria drinker, this is not your basic sangria! I taste brandy which we love in sangria and I think it also had vodka in it too!! Thank you!! Yummm!! Cheers!!!

The service was extremely slow. The food was ok but for the price, I expected better. The sangria was $14 a glass which is absolutely ridiculous!!

Brigalia’s WAS our go to spot for a quick sit down lunch.In light of everything going around, we thought the staff would take more caution with food preparation. While sitting at the bar, we observed the cook touching everything with his bare hands, wiping his apron, then touching food again. Not once did he wash his hands.The bartender cleaned off the bar area then wiped it down before serving us drinks and picking straws with her bare fingers and placing them in our drinks.Hence the reason for 3 stars.Overall a good place, but please learn from other restaurants in the area that were noted for similar problems.Menu They offer a lot, and have specials throughout the week and at lunch time. They recently changed their policy where lunch specials could only be ordered while at the bar, not the dining areas.Location The restaurant is located on Route 73, just south of Winslow High School in a small strip.Atmosphere Small and quaint establishment with indoor/outdoor seating. They door have outdoor tents (casual and beach vibe) for dining.
