Bidrage med feedbackI had the biggest gizzard salad and chevre chaud ever the tomatoes and whole plate were delicious really local, fresh and tasty. Rick had 3 confit duck legs and masses of chips all lovely. We had the local Broche cake for dessert with gorgeous strawberry icecream. All washed down with a very nice Saint Chinan
Chez Anna is okay for a quick bite to eat. I had the Paysanne (SP) the sausage of the area. It came with fries and some salad. Eat the Salas first before the grease of the fries and sausage soaks the lettuce on the bottom.
Visited here for lunch only choosing it because the other options in the town were so limited. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu is limited to a few salads, and a couple of hot dishes. We chose the duck which comprised of a couple of confit manchons (the drumsticks) a whole load of chips and some salad. The taste was fine, we all know what tinned duck tastes like and it was as it should be. Chips were very crunchy, frozen and a little overcooked. Salad was fresh. A basket of bread and water was provided and we ordered a lovely bottle of local rose. For 2 main meals and one bottle of wine, the €45 bill was far more than we are used to paying in this part of France for basic cafe food, however, it is right on the river, overlooking the bridge with views up to the castle and attracts a premium for that reason. This restaurant is only one of a few in the town and they are all expensive so its probably the best option. No complaints at all but I doubt we will return.
Right by the river, open air terrace restaurant serving some nice food and array of drinks. We spent a lovely couple of hours here. Nice drinks, great views. Good service.
This is our second time in Belcastel and lunch at Anna 's. The menus have not changed in 3 years: various salades composees : enormous amount of lettuce leaves with choices of meats like salami, magret and or cheeses. And various choices of pasta dishes (raviolis etc). No other items. Suitable for lunches for most part. We had a salad, and a ravioli dish. It was ok. We did not try the desserts. Prices are reasonables and service efficient and friendly. The view is exceptional of the castle and the river Aveyron. But, and here is the reason we will not return: an invasion of flies which were relentless ! It had happened last time. But twice is enough !
