Fratelli Rosso Dal 1981 - BAVENO

Amazing food and service. Reservation recommended. Best meatballs in Italy, soft and plenty of sauce. Nice wine list and house wines; complementary bread basket, bread with Gorgonzola spread and lemoncello.

Service was good and attentive. We ate twice at the restaurant and enjoyed both meals. Restaurant was quiet and a nice surprise down a street. No complaints. Would recommend but you need to reserve in advance.

We came back to Baveno this year and headed straight to our old favourite of previous years visits, Fratelli Rosso, having booked in advance from Scotland (highly recommend that you book to ensure a table it is very popular). And so glad we did it is still the best restaurant in Baveno for local regional dishes, served beautifully by the very friendly staff, and at a reasonable price. An excellent choice of dishes to choose from, and we sampled a selection of dishes between our party. All were so tasty, for example fresh pasta cooked perfectly al dente, rich ragu and sauces, tender beef and smooth mash tattie. Also, the starters are excellent, especially for me the vitello tonnato, and the desserts are a perfect ending to the meal. The wine list is also tremendous, with a focus on regional wines, like the Gavi and Trento DOC that we enjoyed. We love this restaurant, and all the staff who run it so well and make us feel so welcome, whilst keeping the standards so high. That’s why we come back year after year and love every visit.

Very delicious food and superior hospitality! The meatballs were extraordinary, complimented by tasty vegetables. A memorable evening!
