Mcgonigal's Pub - Barrington

Nice neighborhoody bar straight in the heart of downtown Barrington. Have visited a few times and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Sad to hear that they'll be closing their doors soon.

Met up with my First Responder Fire Academy Colleague; to catch up and give advise to my oldest son. McGonigal 's has that old world Cheers vibe. We chose our own table, South west corner of the bar, a good spot to view the area, not that there 's a bad seat in the place, just haven 't sat hear before. Trevor was our flight instructor Waiter). Attentive and helpful. We ordered a Guinness, Crown Royal with 7Up and one Crown Royal, neat I 'm eliminating sugar drinks from my intake). Water was presented to all of us as another option. Trevor Rocks! My son ordered the Shepherd 's Pie, since he only had coffee in the morning, the rest of us savored our drinks. We were never rushed, but Trevor showed up just in time to get another round going. We decided to order some Wings with not to much heat, where your begging for mercy; we went with there Blackhawk level 3 notches before the OMG, take us now level. If I forgot to mention, the Owner Chef updated there whole menu, some of there favorite items, in the past were eliminated. The New menu is looking epic. As mentioned we ordered the wings, we decided the 3 pound serving, since there was three of us. I 've been blessed to have had Buffalo Wings from the original place that invented them, in Buffalo, NY as well as Hooters in North Carolina I 've made Buffalo Wings as well, so I 'm a wings snob). McGonigal 's Wings are unbelievably delicious will order them again! Presentation was spot on. Choice of Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressings on the side. We all went with Ranch! Glad McGonigal 's is only 4 blocks away and looking forward to visiting Brian Margaret 's place again. Cheers Nazdrowie!

We are new to the area and have been in search of a pub. We are huge fans of McBrides, so this was definitely a spot that we would return to because of the service and atmosphere. The food items were pretty good. The only thing that we didn’t like was the seating area is kind of tight.

Fantastic Irish food! Great pub! Relaxed environment. This is my go-to lunch place!

First time there and they met all my expectations!!!
