Bidrage med feedbackThe juices were excellent, but if you take them to go they are only €3 instead of €5 for dining in. They serve them in a bottle straight from the fridge. The salmon Bibimbap had good flavors, but the fish had fatty skin and a chewy texture with some bones still in it. The fish taco trio was good, but the flavors were not very complex. Overall, the quality of ingredients was good but lacked finesse for the price. The server was nice, but the host at the entry seemed forgetful, asking if we had a reservation and then helping other customers before seating us. Despite plenty of available tables, it was not busy during our visit.
Flax and Kale is a small chain with locations scattered around Barcelona, each offering a slightly different menu. However, all of them focus on vegetarian cuisine, and they certainly excel in this specialty. The dishes are well-executed, with excellent meat substitutes when needed. I particularly enjoyed the noodle dishes and desserts. I would recommend avoiding the ramen, as the broth was rather bland.
A great place for celiacs, gluten-free, plant-based and vegan eaters. There are many options, mainly vegan, excellent service, and a pleasant experience overall. Besides a few fish options (tuna), there is no meat available, so this is not a great option for paleo eaters.
Probably the best gluten free vegan pizza I have ever tasted. I also loved the kale chips and the own brand kombutcha. It was all incredible. I had no room left for desert but I wish I did because the desert counter looked beautiful. On my next visit to Barcelona I will definitely be back to try something different from the menu. The service was super quick too (I went at lunch time) and the only down side for me is that the tables are quite close together and the wooden chairs used for the middle tables are very uncomfortable. I asked to be moved to a different table with a padded chair.
I visited during a quiet dinner time. This restaurant is perfect for solo dining, especially for those who are vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. They also offer a few fish dishes on the menu. I savored a delicious mushroom pizza and indulged in a dairy-free cheesecake while enjoying my book.
