Lido Sammy - Barano d'ischia

Really good Bruschette and Paninis. Service is quick and friendly. Recommand the panino melanzane parmigiana together with a cold birra alla spina.

We were swimming at the beach nearby, and had ordered lunch here to take back to the beach. But a vigorous thunderstorm arose while they were cooking our food, so we dashed inside to eat, along with half the people on the beach. The Sammy staff (probably owner and family) were so accommodating. The tiny train dining car sized restaurant was crammed with people from many countries, all scrunching to share the space, watching the storm on the water just a few yards away, rain pounding on the roof. The customers helped to quickly close the big shutter style windows. The food was very good, and the prices were fair. I would probably normally give it a 4, because I am cheap with fives, but they projected such a spirit of kindness and hospitality calm, happy and accepting in the midst of chaos that we have a great memory, and we would gladly go back. So they deserve a 5. Sometimes you get more than food at a restaurant.

Great place to stay at the beach for some time. The staff is amazing, pasta and coffee really good. We enjoyed the day so much!

We ate at this restaurant when all the other restaurants were closed between 1-5PM and we were SO GRATEFUL they were serving food! We were starving. EXCELLENT SERVICE, DELICIOUS FOOD. Definitely go there if you're in Ischia
