Overall everything was amazing! We were early for our reservation so went to Parrila first. Had drinks and shared appetizers. Provoleta: delicious!!! The chimichurri had a nice kick of spice. Sausage sampler: delicious too every single sausage and their sauce was delicious Oysters: also super fresh both the cocktail sauce and the vinaigrette were spot on Waiter very attentive and the hostess accompanied us to our reserve table when ready. While at Havana the waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and his recommendations were spot on. Iberico and Manchego salad: very good. The vinaigrette had heat and it was delicious. Braised pork belly: OMG this was a good moment. It was tender and the sauce is savory and sweet. It was the highlight.
Wonderful imaginative food in a beautiful setting. Make certain you schedule reservations as this location is extremely popular with both locals and tourists. We secured a 5:45 time and people were already waiting for a table. By the time we departed the restaurant was packed. Staff handled the big crowd with professional service. We were very impressed. Visiting Acadia I found this place and immediately made a reservation thinking it has Cuban food. I was quite surprised in a good way that it offered many different dishes and they were all excellent! We sat in the open patio area although there was a chill in the air it was tolerable. The dishes were very tasty and bold. The paella was excellent and had a nice kick to it that made it super fun for the taste buds. The Moqueca was also a hit with our group along with the cheese plate, oysters and humba. We even had a conversation with another couple where she was from Cuba! Where else would you find such a wonderful evening but in Bar Harbor in Havana! Parking: Their bar and grill next to the restaurant looked very fun and inviting. Definitely will stop in next time I'm in that area.
Positives: 1. Our entrees were excellent. Negatives: 1. We had a Havana Gift Card and intended to use it for the entire Havana dining experience i.e., dinner, tips, tax everything. However, when I presented the Gift Card to our waiter, he informed us that it could not be used for tips. This caused us to have to use our credit card for the tip, leaving a balance on the Gift Card in an amount that was too small to be of any real use at this restaurant for future dining. 2. Our dinner entrees arrived before our drinks. 3. There was no appreciable amount of alcohol in our mixed drinks.
