Bidrage med feedbackVery good waiter service. foods with reasonable trips and good portions, but I would stress the use of oregano and dill without limit. it was a bit exaggerated, and, as far as I know, oregano is not going well with seafood anyway. cleanliness? oh no, as soon as I opened the menu that was full of fat, there were rice grains that were stuck on the leaves. also the forks were not well washed! the plate is broken on the rock and the loud Egyptian musicok, I understand it is an Egyptian restaurant, but various races go there, and perhaps the loud music disturbs them. with a few changes, they can have the restaurant 5 stars! that were some recommended, I hope they implement them!
Good Egyptian seafood cuisine in astoria. this opposite is a mini hub for middle eastern restaurants. we ordered 2 broiled Bronzino fish. the meal came with a small salad, a small portion hummus and 3 pieces of freshly baked Egyptian brot and 2 portion rice. the fish was at the point of the totally spoiled outside, but inside was moist and soft to the point of soggy. somehow it was missing from taste inside and tasted blande, while the outer skin was bitter because of the radiation. overall it was just ok. brot, hummus and salat were delicious and fresh. reis was okay. we also ordered Egyptian tee with mint, which turned out to be the high point of the meal. this meal cost us $100 with top.
First time trying Egyptian food and it was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and attentive as well. The seafood platter for 2 is well worth it.
Review update: first time we tried this place it was great, quiet affordable( I even gave it a 5 star review in here). The second time we went, we had the worst experience! We waited literally 55mn to get our food, the server was ignoring us, there were literally people who came after us, who ate left (but I’m not blaming him, the poor guy was overwhelmed, disorganized running all over). The food was not as good, I guess they were so crowded that they were just rushing to get things out! We ordered a grilled fish and they gave us a roasted one. We also ordered a shrimp dish and they gave us a pot filled with canned crushed tomatoes 5 shrimps swimming inside… all that after a 55mn wait the best part is that we paid $90 for these two mediocre dishes… Such a disappointment!!A little advice to whoever is managing this place: Quality over quantity! Opening a number of tables that you can’t properly handle will just get you reviews like this.
The seafood is amazingly fresh. Wonderful service! Egyptian hospitality.
