The theme here is serving a sizzling meal in a hot bowl. It's ok. Prices are now over $20 for the bowl, and it doesn't seem like as much food in it as...
We found this little jewel while we went to Asheville to get something for my brother. While we were looking, we did not find any other Korean options, so we decided to give Stone Bowl a chance. Since it was the only real Korean place that could find e, we did not expect the most authentic flavors, but we can never give a chance to try a Korean stain. When we entered the front doors, the place was beautifully decorated and had a really inviting feeling for it. We were greeted and said we could sit anywhere we want. When we got the menu, we were surprised how many options it had and how great it sounded and everything was looking. We started with a traditional Kimbap. Kimbap is Kimbap, and Stone Bowl definitely delivered... but my favorite surprise was the diving sauce they brought. I never had a sauce served with Kimbap and it was a very nice addition. The three of us decided to order all stone dishes, but with different meats. When the food came the main thing I was discouraged was the lack of banana that was brought out with him. Fortunately for Stone Bowl, the couple of dishes they serve are packed with so much good taste that it reminds me of a good home cooked meal from my Korean family. I will say that corn in the stone bowl was a little strange as I had never served it like that, but it has offered a beautiful taste and texture to the dish. All meat tasted super and so the ingredients that formed the dishes. After I let the bowl sit for a minute and crispy the rice on the ground, I poured some of the gochujang and the Kimbap sauce on my bowl, mixed it up and sworn! Service, atmosphere and food were great. I'll try Stone Bowl next time I'm in the area!
We enjoyed Korean food (1st timer). The box lunch salmon had a delicious Teriyaki sauce, with pages from Kimchi, dumplings, vegetables rice $12. Chicken roasted rice also $12 for lunch. Friendly service.
