Bar Italia Di Giordani Roberto

Winding our way from the parking lot to the center of Vicenzia, we discovered this pleasant and ordinary restaurant. Nothing spectacular and probably a #4 out of 5. Great service and a nice menu. It is on a busy pedestrian way, the outdoor seating was nice.

I stopped into Bar Italia Vicenza for quick dinner while I was in Vicenza for business. The sign outside listed 'today 's specials ' and the prices seemed reasonable, so I thought I 'd give it a try. The waiter was not very polite, and was rather rough around the edges. I ordered the lasagna bolognese €8 after tax). It was a normal sized portion, but was not very warm and seemed to have been only slightly reheated presumably by microwave) before it was brought out. It was mediocre; not terrible, not great. Surprising that this was the quality, given the location. I did eat at 5pm so perhaps I was too early and that 's what you get when it 's not during their dinner rush, so I 'm trying to be understanding. The takeaway; I won 't be going back. Life 's too short to eat mediocre lasagna in Italy.

I don't drink coffee or tea, but I love hot chocolate, and this was the best I've ever had. The chocolate pastries (petit fours) that I had with it were also delicious. What a great chocolate fix! There's some nice, covered outside seating, and very friendly staff.

It's always nice to taste an aperitif. while the city turns around. the location is magical.
