Oban Seafood Hut - Argyll Bute

If you love fresh shellfish then this is the place to go in Oban. It’s easy to find, just look for a queue on the ferry terminal pier and join it!

After a long and exhausting drive from the South, we arrived in Oban and checked into our accommodation before exploring the beautiful ferry and fishing port. While looking at the ferry schedules, we passed by a famous seafood hut located right next to the ferry terminal. Unfortunately, the hut was just closing as we approached, and I expressed my disappointment at missing the opportunity to try their food after traveling for so long. To our surprise and joy, the staff offered to prepare some delicious mussels cooked in a broth of white wine, garlic, and cream, serving them hot in a large tray with crusty bread to soak up the flavors. The cost was well worth it, making the journey all the way from New Zealand worthwhile, as confirmed by other satisfied customers.

My wife ordered a hot smoked salmon sandwich and I had a crab sandwich. It was great value for money and the best sandwich I've had in years. I am excited to return to this restaurant.

Grand Seafood platter what a treat. Excellent value for money. No frills eating. Even on a very wet day the queues tell the story. A great way to meet other people from across the world. Quality variety and quantity.

A great place to visit to taste the delights of Oban. It's very popular and can be long queues so get there early. So much choice at very reasonable prices. We tried the oysters, mussels, crab sandwich an the platter . Superb and a must...visit.
