Bidrage med feedbackWas a terrible experience. Food was bland after spending $60.00 on 3 sandwiches. We were yelled at by the owner as one of us had a sip out of a reusable water bottle. While sitting and eating our sandwiches I spotted the owner licking a spatula and his fingers while preparing food. And to top it off no bathrooms. We were told we had to drive to town to use the public toilets. Needless to say we did not finish our lunch. Will not return.
We all really enjoy the food. The staff were very nice. We had to wait a bit but we could see that it was very busy. Really nicely kept outdoor eating area.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to try their famous Chef-prepared schnitzel dinner, sirloin burger, and delectable desserts, as well as their frozen ready-to-eat meals. The generous portions make these menu items a great value for your money. You won't be disappointed!
We have been passing thru here for years, most times not open. Now after purchasing some dessert ,22$ for 6 tarts is gouging. Kawartha buttertart factory 2.75 a tart, and so I better start baking ,,, 44$ for meat pies,, a lot over the top,, just because we are in cottage country doesn 't mean we are rich, Good food but profit is becoming a sin,, Sorry,,, but once they were in cottage life mag, cha ching
My wife and I were driving back to Toronto from Wilberforce when we stumbled upon The Swiss Bear Restaurant Bakery along the highway. Despite it being Easter Sunday, the take-out window was open for business. The woman working there was incredibly friendly and took our order. We had hoped to try the Slaw Schnitzel Sandwich, but it was unavailable, so she suggested a variation with stewed cranberries and apples, which turned out to be delicious. I also ordered the Schnitzel Poutine and a coke. Although there was a bit of a wait due to a few customers ahead of us, the food was well worth it. The schnitzel was cooked perfectly, and both the sandwich and poutine were fantastic. As a bonus, she even gave us a free tart for dessert since it was our first time there. We will definitely be returning to The Swiss Bear Restaurant Bakery - the best schnitzel outside of Switzerland! Make sure to stop by if you're passing through Apsley.
