We had high expectations for this restaurant based on the reviews, but were disappointed when we arrived. The selection of vegan options on the menu was limited and the staff seemed disinterested in assisting us. The kombucha we ordered was small and the soup and main dishes were unimpressive. Given the high prices, we were disappointed with our experience and found better and cheaper vegan options on the street. We were glad to leave the restaurant.
The restaurant has a stunning back courtyard and a peaceful atmosphere. However, I found it to be quite expensive, even for Antigua, and they had limited vegetarian options. I tried the vegetarian enchiladas, which were not traditional Mexican enchiladas as stated on the menu. They consisted of two fried hard tortillas topped with pickled cabbage and beets, lacking the avocado layer that I had enjoyed at another restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this dish. Additionally, I was disappointed to see several birds in cages on the back patio, a common sight in Latin America but something that I personally do not appreciate. I believe other vegans may want to take this information into consideration.
First time I was sitting in the bar area. Girls who worked there were so good. English was perfect. Menu Modifications are possible and many options available. I am not a burger person, but there is an option of vegan burger and a sandwich. I had Thai salad and Corn Tostadas all was really good!! Staff was amazing and willing to accommodate my needs with no problem. English menu made it easy as well. Couldn’t ask for more accommodating atmosphere! : However, the next day we had a dinner in restaurant area (same menu . Restaurant area is all in the garden very beautiful and big. However, non of waitress spoken english. Service was really slow (had to wait 20mins for the lemonade food took long as well.. that’s the reason I took 1 back.
If you are looking for vegan options at this restaurant, your choices are limited to a Portobello Burger or Veggies fried tacos (Guatemala style, as there is not much else available and it is not clearly indicated on the menu. I was excited to order the eggplant curry without cheese, but was informed that it already contained cheese. However, I did enjoy my mango strawberry smoothie. The menu lists baked potatoes, but they actually serve French fries. The atmosphere is lovely and they do offer dairy-free chocolates, but as a vegan, I probably would not return.
