Bidrage med feedbackI’ve never actually eaten anything from the menu, bc their daily specials always snag my attention. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious! Try the Pumpkin cookies (if available)! Don’t forget a Dog cookie for your Furry babies
Wonderful food. Completely vegan. Friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere. We loved everything we tried. We will definitely make the trip here again!
What a gift this restaurant is! Tasty food. Lovely presentation. Variety (bowls, sandwiches, soups, tacos, nachos-rotating through the menu). Flexibility (making lunch during breakfast hours for brown-bagging). Friendly, prompt service. My non-veg husband enjoys the baked goods, too. My favorite restaurant.
One word: wow! This place is the true definition of a hidden gem. We came here passing through on our way back to Chicago. They were actually closed, but when the owners saw me gawking in from outside, they let me in anyways first time ever experiencing that! Their smoothies are: real smoothies! It’s the first proper smoothie I’ve had in the States, no lie, and I’ve had around 15 20 by now. They even marked the menu with a “sweetness scale” to let you know exactly how sweet the smoothie is. Their food is real food, home made, fresh, vibrant and delicious. I stared at the carrot cake for about three minutes straight, but the owner never tried to push it on my or “make a sale”, which made me want it all the more. I, for one, love my gluten, and felt slightly disappointed, when he said it was gluten free. But I have to say: it’s the best gluten free cake I’ve ever tasted. Seasoned to perfection, and not too sweet. It even felt halfway healthy to eat, which is mind boggling, considering the scrumptious nature of said bakery. This is the kind of place you wish all your friends could visit. It’s the kind of place you’d buy yourself poor in and be happy about it. It’s the kind of place that just doesn’t make sense in terms of location to quality ratio. How one of the absolute best vegan eateries in the Midwest/East are placed in Angola, Indiana, with a total population of 9,000, is beyond me. But that same defiance of logic makes it all the more special, and the kind of place that makes you feel a shimmer of hope in the saturated market where everyone dips stuff in batter, fries it and calls it food. Thank you, and please, keep up the amazing work!
We had breakfast at the rooted vegan. Both of us had the breakfast burrito and it was very good. Great taste and texture. Also tried some of the baked goods. The cookies are very good. My favorite was the chocolate chip. The space is very nice also. Clean and modern with touches from a local artist.
