Bidrage med feedbackThe CrepeBar is near the Centraal Station in Amsterdam and right around the corner from the Crowne Plaza City Centre. I discovered the CrepeBar my last day in Amsterdam and it worked perfect for a lighter lunch/late breakfast. The restaurant has a small amount of seating but it was relatively empty for a late Sunday morning. In addition WiFi was available here for free, you just had to ask the waitstaff for the password. There were 2 of us eating at the CrepeBar and we both ordered a savory crepe and later split a dessert crepe. The savory crepe I had was called Viva Le Crepe, and included smoked turkey, bacon, pesto, cucumbers, lettuce, and tomatoes. The combination of the ingredients with the crepe were really good and the pesto went well with the turkey and bacon. The other person I was with had a Caesar Crepe that included the typical Caesar ingredients and mushrooms. For dessert we split a candy apple crepe where you could add powdered sugar to it. The crepe was delicious and the nuts went well with the sauce and apples. This was an easy and light meal to have right by the hotel I was staying at. If I had known this restaurant was right around the corner, I would have stopped here sooner. Overall a great place to stop by if you want a light meal or some tasty dessert crepes.
The food is amazing. Savory or sweet. I myself sampled the entire menu having been hit by the munchies. More-ish. Service is extremely fast but I wouldn't sit down there for too long. Very busy
Was so good, I came back for more. It's hard to choose one crepe; the menu is huge! I can't remember the names of the crepes I had, but the first was like a margarita pizza in a crepe soft, creamy mozzarella, fresh cut tomatoes and basil. I'm craving it now. The next visit was for breakfast, and I had and egg, ham and cheese crepe. I asked if they could switch bacon for the ham and they happily obliged. I had the Romeo Juliet for dessert one day delicious! It's simple lemon, butter and a sprinkle of icing sugar. Was a taste of my childhood. Service was great, and the Illy coffee was good too. They also have a full English breakfast for those that don't want a crepe.
Writing this review on the train to Paris : Looking for breakfast before leaving Amsterdam for Paris, we found this crepe place not too far from the train station. The restaraunt is quaint and welcoming. We both had coffee, and it was OK. We love coffee and have definitely had better, but this did the trick giving us the warm caffeine boost we needed. I had a crepe with salmon, spinach, onions, goat cheese, and some type of pickle sauce. My crepe was awesome! My wife had the dutch breakfast which included eggs, sausage, bread, and a few types of cheese. I sampled hers and it was also yummy, though the sausages were kind of blah. Overall good breakfast, friendly service, a little more pricey than what we are used to, and a great location in Amsterdam Centraal. Try this place if you are in the area.
We stopped by here while on our honeymoon in Amsterdam to grab some lunch and it was delicious! Crepe Bar offers up a boatload of options for fillings and has them categorized by meal type (breakfast, lunch, desert) on a giant chalkboard on one wall of the shop. This was extremely helpful at a few points but they also list their cafe menu as well coffees and the like. Additionally, they serve the typical few Dutch beers and sodas you 'd expect to find at any restaurant. I ordered a crepe with turkey, cheese, lettuce and chipotle mayonnaise. It was super savory and hit the spot! A small side note we grew to become accustomed with over our multi week stay in The Netherlands as an American we are used to a certain type of wait staff. This city (for the most part) leans in the total opposite direction. You will flag down your server for drinks, utensils, check...anything you expect to just happen in The States? You 'll request it here. And you 'll feel you 've inconvenienced the person you 're asking it of. It 's a cultural difference and one I 've had a hard time adapting to. But, when in Rome......(or Amsterdam)
