In case of reservations for special occasions (Christmas, Easter, Pentecost etc., you should first check whether an a la carte order is possible or whether only menus are offered. Operation Our waiter (Bernd was really very nice and very well advised. His older colleague was rarely seen. So he was apparently alone responsible for the entire guest room. Here an additional service worker would certainly have done well to give the whole a little more style and tranquility. For this price class, a certain standard is expected. Food The portions were extremely oversized for all my guests. And there we come to the greatest anger: only 4 menus were available. On request we received the nice but unsatisfied information that a reduction for the appetizer is possible for a discount of € 3.50. So everyone was forced to choose a main course and a dessert. The desserts could be exchanged within the menu selection. As a children's dinner, we were offered fries with schnitzel or chicken nuggets. Since some did not want to be forced into a 2 gang menu, two adults from our round ordered a children's dinner and a robber plate for the child. In the auditorium, a company (10 people also echauffed via the menu selection at the neighboring table and rose to leave the locality before the beverage order. We also thought briefly about it, but where to go at lunch on 2. Christmas holiday with 6 people spontaneously soak. So we decided to stay. Basically, the food was very tasty and appealing. The Vitello tonnato and the Mousse au chocolate were all right, but nothing that remains in memory for a long time. The ordered deer medallions were perfectly pink, the rose carrot fresh. A menu price of over 37 EUR is absolutely exaggerated. A tasty main course is not enough. The ambience The tables were very sweet and Christmasly covered. Every place there was a small bag with pastries very nice gesture. The guest room makes a very cozy impression. The murals with old city views of Altenburg fit very well into the rest of the rustic, but not dusty, ambience. Cleanliness No complaints.
Very recommended. The kitchen is excellent and also very creative. The service does not follow this in any way. We always like to go by.
The Kollers Kurgarten is really a tip. Especially also for guests of the nearby Seehotel, who no longer want to walk so far into the city. It is located directly on the Seestraße with a beer garden with old large trees of Bavarian standards enough! Looking at the lake! The ambience inside is modern and lightning clean, maybe something sober. The service very friendly, the food of good quality. Inconspicuous: I believe for the first time that I got extra cutlery for the salad in a petty-bourgeois restaurant. Very commendable! I wanted the fries to the Schnitzel extra-brown and so they also came, which is not always the same. The operation recommended me an intrusive herb for digestion, which I can recommend! A nice place with good food!
Secret tip! One of the best restaurants in Altenburg. You have to take some time, because good thing needs a while! We were very often in the Kollers and the food was always top class. The service is friendly, the card is not overloaded and some of the dishes are seasonal. Here traditional cuisine with modern elements is brought creatively to the table. Prices are reasonable, for that the portions are very large. Of course, senior plates are also available. Sometimes even a greeting comes from the kitchen. When we were in the Kollers with a larger group, we had agreed the dishes before. So there were no problems eating together. Conclusion: Let yourself be convinced!
I took a seat today just before 7:00. I was told that there is nothing more to eat (see opening hours). You'd be ready for a lentil soup. Five minutes later, the main courses are served at the side table. All right And unfortunately very bad. Also for my hunger. I find the ambience in itself simple, but very homely. Almost like a living room (also with a fireplace).
