La Lanterna - ALGHERO

Arrived late, welcomed and served two amazing pizzas and a lovely carafe of house red wine, thank you for a lovely first night in Alghero

We passed this place on our walk in and out of Alghero each evening and decided to give it a try one night. It seemed very popular with locals. I’m so glad we did!!! The waitresses were absolutely lovely and very patient and smiley (they spoke English but accepted our attempts at Italian with good grace! . We all had pizzas for our meals and absolutely loved them!!! I’ve bedn to Italy many, many times but can honestly say this was the best, most delicious, fresh, tasty pizza I’ve ever had!!! We all loved it there so much that we returned twice more as we just couldn’t resist going back for more of the same! I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Oh and it’s cheap too around 50 euros for 5 of us! If you’re reading this and are about to try it out I’m so jealous!!!

Restaurant pizzeria just outside the chaotic old town of alghero. the outdoor garden is very beautiful, all covered by the evy. we ate fish: I spaghetti algherese and my partner the fish of the day with verdurine. All excellent. the wine of the house is also good. a bit of waiting but widely repaid. very good prices. seemed like a local with typical “consistency” cuisine and with excellent raw material, away from the restaurants of the overlaid center and “teater tourists”. really recommended!

Great service and very delicious dishes with good value for money. excellent fregular, roasted pecorino and cod. even desserts to try! recommended!
