Restaurante Castro da Cola

A wonderful restaurant in the middle of no, where on the top of a hill next to the ruins of a castle. probably happy that it was this time of the year opened, as trip advisor says, it is closed, but what wonderful eating. so typical. food from this region of portugal, but so beautiful to find a restaurant that makes real food that represents countries food. they will be back when we are in this area.

The location is beautiful and a great location for a restaurant. but this is the only plus, sad. the setting is rather disappointing in the view of the service and the standard of food. 2 young waitresses worked very hard when the restaurant was soon full, we were first to arrive. 2 others did little and were not friendly. eating was also disappointing. we ordered lombo do porco/pork loin covered with a carrot sauce and served very blandly with chips and rice on a cold plate and ensopada de borrego/lamb stew served with dipped brot. best described as wet and missing taste. After we waited a long time for no one to take our teller, even if we want dessert or coffee, we requested the bill. no one asked us if we had enjoyed the meal. overall very disappointing. I would say to the owners that they cannot rely on the situation, they need to offer a good, friendly service and much better quality food.

We had our last week of summer holiday in alentejo and found this great place. delicious food from alentejo, wonderful atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. there are outdoor and indoor seating tables and the restaurant follows all the logs about COVID-19, so we also felt very safe. thank you for your hospitality. we're coming back.

Great acute eating from alentejo with a good selection of local whiskys. the room is very pleasant and ideal for families, especially when outside. personal is really friendly and helpful

We were recommended by our Airbnb host in Lisbon and our hotel!! I’m vegetarian and was a bit dubious!! The food was amazing!!! The location and ambiance really reflect the local lifestyle!! Would def recommend!!
