The Spotty Bag Shop Bridgeview

The service at this restaurant was very slow, the staff lacked customer service skills, and seemed uninterested in being there. Our bill came to £25 for two toastie "meals", which we found to be ridiculous. The toasties came with a soggy salad and only about 5 crisps on the side. The coffee I ordered was also terrible. Overall, it was not worth the money. If you're looking for food while at the Spoty Bag shop, I recommend buying something from the food section downstairs instead.

We went to the Spotty Bag cafe but ended up leaving because of the incompetent and rude staff. We were seated by a waitress but after waiting 10 minutes, no one came to take our order. When I asked a staff member if we needed to order at the counter, they assured us they would come to our table. However, after waiting for another 20 minutes with no service, we decided to leave. Despite watching other families be seated and served after us, we were ignored. When I inquired if the dark-haired staff member was the manager, she claimed there was no manager and denied our wait time. This lack of accountability confirmed our decision to leave. It was a disappointing experience and we would not recommend this cafe. It seems the owners and staff do not pay attention to negative reviews, as they could benefit from improving their service. We suggest avoiding this place and trying a different cafe that values their customers.

Arrived and was given a beeper to wait for a table, no problem went shopping downstairs while we waited. Eventually got a table, order was taken quickly but then the long wait started. We were with our 4 year old who was starving. We’d ordered a kids box for him sandwich, juice, fruit etc and because the food was taking so long we eventually asked if we could have his sandwich out first because he’s only wee and starving. Waitress disappeared came back to tell us that no we couldn’t because it would mess things up in the kitchen all that tells me is it’s just chaos in there never had that request turned down ever. Was told it would still be ages because burgers take a while. Eventually let my son have a cake from the counter so he had SOMETHING in his stomach good thing, the kids box eventually came with only half a sandwich. ! why? Just one piece of bread folded over with a piece of ham and cut in half. My 1 year old eats more than that. Our burgers were so tough and overcooked it was hard and chewy to eat but we were starving. Love a side salad and coleslaw but it had been served up and left sitting so long the coleslaw had a skin on it. All round, unenjoyable and expensive.

The Bridgeview Restaurant is located upstairs from the famous Spotty Bag Shop. There is no problem with disabled access as there is a lift available. You are required to wait and be allocated a table. Service was quick and friendly. There is a good range of lunches, snacks, soup and sandwich combos, cakes, and hot drinks. Prices were reasonable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Recommended
